Newport NH is a quiet, friendly mill town located 6 miles west of Lake Sunapee between interstates 89 and 91. So quiet in fact that you could drive right though it and miss most of the fun things to do!

There is a wide variety of great places to eat, a thriving art scene, and wonderful outdoor recreation including camping, golf, and biking and hiking.

During the summer months the town common has events all weekend. Farmers’ Markets are held on Fridays 3-6pm, flea markets and crafts fairs on Saturdays, and outdoor concerts on the bandstand every Sunday.

Newport Arts & Entertainment

The Newport Opera House Performance Center offers a variety of music and entertainment, ranging from rock, jazz, folk, dancing, theater and children’s programs.

The Newport Library Arts Center is a mini-museum and art studio that features rotating exhibitions by well known local artists and local art students as well as art classes and workshops for all ages.

Art lovers will want to stop in at the Odds and Ends Antique Shop in the town center to meet painter Barbara Huff and see her shop full of Newport historical pictures and her own stunning artwork of abstracts and landscapes of the area.

Don’t miss “The Train Mural” depicting the four seasons of New Hampshire along with the many landmarks of the town of Newport, on display in the center of town on the Johnson Block building.
