Location: Off Route 103, Newbury/Mt. Sunapee
Activities: Swimming, picnicking, fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking. The beach also connects to the Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway trail system for extended hiking.
Amenities: Bathhouse, picnic tables, boat launch, canoe/kayak rentals, restrooms, park store.
Clubs: Lake Sunapee Rowing Club
Day-use: Admission is $5 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-11; children ages 5 and under and NH residents age 65 and over are admitted free.
Please note: There are no lifeguards on duty — swimming is at your own risk. Beach water-quality advisories are updated daily by the NH Dept. of Environmental Services during summer months, so check conditions before you go. Pets are welcome at the campground but are not permitted on the beach.

Sunapee State Park Campground
Sunapee State Park campground is in a very quiet and secluded location on the side of Mt. Sunapee about a mile from the base lodge. The campground offers renovated lean-to and tent/platform sites with pit toilets and water, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The campground is best suited for tent camping — it is not designed to accommodate trailers or RVs — and cell service in the area is limited.
Mt. Sunapee State Beach, with flush toilets and showers, is located about a mile from the campground and campers may also make use of these facilities.
The campground operates seasonally, typically from May through October. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance online through ReserveAmerica, or by calling 1-877-647-2757. As of the current season, nightly rates run approximately $29-$40 depending on site type (lean-to sites are the higher end), plus a $7 reservation fee; NH senior citizens receive a $5 per-night discount. Please also note New Hampshire’s firewood transport restrictions — avoid bringing firewood in from outside the state to help prevent the spread of invasive pests.

Directions to the campground:
There are no labeled signs to the campground, just a small sign with a camping symbol on it.
Just after the entrance to Mount Sunapee ski area you will see the sign directing you to the first ski area parking lot on your left.
You will see another sign in the parking lot directing you to the service road that runs to the summit. Follow this steep and winding road up about a mile and turn left at the gate into the campground parking lot.
