The Fells: Natural Lakeshore Habitat – A Closer Look

Come learn about the wonderful natural world that exists where the water meets the land.

This joint Fells-LSPA program will explore this ecotone, or transitional meeting of two different natural communities.

What are the plant and animal species that inhabit this zone? What special relationships exist here? What does a healthy lakeshore habitat look like?

This program, designed for upper elementary school-age through adults, begins with a presentation in the John Hay Classroom in the Gatehouse, followed by an easy hike along the shore of Lake Sunapee.
