SUMMARY:71st Annual Warner Fall Foliage Festival
DESCRIPTION:The 71st Annual Warner Fall Foliage Festival is scheduled during the upcoming Columbus Day Weekend. The festival begins on Friday\, October 5\, when the midway opens from 6 to 9 PM. The DoBros\, a local folkgrass/rock band\, are scheduled to play on the MainStreet Warner Stage from 7:30 to 10 PM. There will be numerous activities and entertainment throughout downtown on Saturday\, October 6\, from 9 AM to 9 PM\, and Sunday\, October 7\, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Parking is $5 and will be at the west end of town\, with free shuttle bus service to and from the festival. \nThe festival’s center will be located downtown Warner around Main Street\, and there will be easy access to the midway\, food tents and outdoors picnicking. As always\, there will be crafters\, a farmers market\, rides\, food\, parades\, road races\, raffles\, music\, country breakfasts and dinners…and much more. \nA renovated location behind The Foothills restaurant will host an Oxen Pull competition on Saturday starting at 9:30 AM. In this same location\, our very popular Woodsmen competition begins on Sunday at 11 AM. \nThe festival is organized by hundreds of local volunteers. There will be Aerosmith magazine articles\, tour merchandise\, t-shirts\, posters\, crew and band tour jackets\, gold and platinum record awards\, promo materials\, backstage passes and laminates\, and thousands of Aerosmith photos! Our first event in 2017 was attended by 700 fans the first year and over 1500 fans at AHD II in 2018. DESCRIPTION:This year marks the 47th Annual Apple Pie Crafts Fair on the Newport Town Common! Every year\, more than 3000 New Englanders make their way to Newport from all around the state of New Hampshire\, and New England to enjoy more than 130 booths of handmade crafts\, including pottery\, woodworking\, glass\, fiber arts and more. The fair also features live music\, an apple pie contest & sale\, and the Firemens’ Famous Chicken Barbecue. \nIn addition to all of the festivities on the Town Common\, fairgoers will also enjoy the Richards Library Festival that features an outstanding book sale\, cookie walk\, crafts for kids\, a children’s tent\, and lunch on the library porch. \nAPPLE PIE CONTEST\nDo you have an award-winning apple pie recipe? Put it to the test at the favorite Apple Pie Contest! The only rules stipulate that the main ingredient of pies must be apples\, and that only the first twelve pies entered will be considered for judging in the contest. Drop off pies at the Library Arts Center from 2-4pm on Fri. Aug. 21\, or on the morning of the Fair from 8am-10pm at the big tent in the middle of the Common. No entry fee. Due to COVID and to comply with CDC and State regulations\, it’s going to be a bit different this year\, but still fun!! \nThe New Hampshire Pyrotechnics Association will be shooting SATURDAY night from 5-9:30 pm. The gates will open at 6:00PM. All are welcome with a minimal charge of only $5 per car. Please keep in mind this is a drive-in fireworks display\, so please stay in or near your vehicle as much as possible.\nSaturday is open shooting from 5-9:30\, with a 20-minute “Class B” professional GRAND FINALE show at 9:00 to finish the evening out! \nWe will have food vendors there for you to purchase food\, but please be sure to wear your mask while getting your food.\nA BIG thank you to our sponsors: Noise “R” Us Fireworks\, Newport Chevy\, Sugar River Bank\, Pinnacle Sports\, LaValley Building Supply\, Patten’s Auto & Truck Works and Avery Insurance Agency. DESCRIPTION:Reflecting this summer’s art theme of Stillness and Motion\, dancers from the professional dance company Ballet Misha (of Manchester) will perform an exploratory collaboration between sculpture and dance at the John Hay Estate at The Fells in Newbury\, NH. \nVisitors follow a self-guided tour of the grounds where they will see dancers performing improvisational dance inspired by the sculptures.  Dancers will interact with the sculptures\, exploring the dynamics of stillness and motion.  Several of the sculptors and gallery artists will be present to discuss their work.  Guests can move through the galleries and outdoor exhibit at their leisure to see the dancers\, sculptures and art\, and meet the artists. \nBring a picnic to enjoy in the garden\, on the veranda\, or in the pavilion. \nMembers: free\, Non-Members: included in regular admission fee
