Carroll will be at Mainstreet Bookends of Warner for a presentation/celebration of the re-publication of SELF-PORTRAIT WITH TURTLES\, his fourth (of five) books\, which has been out of print for over ten years. \nDavid will discuss this process\, and read some selections from his book\, which was termed “Radiant… “ by Book Page. \nDavid will welcome questions and comments. A book signing will follow his remarks. \n \nOther reviews included\, “[Carroll] proves himself the master of the memoir… in his inspired and eloquent evocation of a particular American landscape – the hills and bogs of the north country – he recalls the nineteenth-century writer who chronicled\, in vivid detail\, the days as they unfolded at a pond we have come to know as Walden”; and “[Carroll is] a wonder\, a nature writers nature writer.  He is a marvel.
